SO, who am I?
My name is Jenn Nekolny and I am a 7th grade teacher at Jefferson Junior High School in Naperville District 203. I am also a wife, mother, wanderer and wonderer. This year, I was selected to be a Fellow with Teachers for Global Classrooms (TGC) through the US Department of State. As a fellow with TGC, I joined colleagues throughout the nation as we explored global issues through a graduate class from George Mason University, then we met them in Washington, DC for a symposium weekend. We traveled to different countries this school year and summer and I was fortunate to be in the India Cohort. In India, we met with Maya Menon and Indira Subramanian from The Teacher Foundation and visited several schools in Banglalore and Delhi. I was also honored to teach at GGVHSS Wandoor and interact with students and teachers at different schools in Kerala, India. My hope is that you can connect with part of my journey this year and find some useful pieces for yourself or your classroom. My passport is always ready. . .is yours?
